ISO 9001:2015 (Quality management systems) - BUREAU VERITAS

The services included in the scope of the certification are:
Clinical Analysis and Microbiology Laboratory, Pathological Anatomy, Transfusion Service, Biobank, Radiophysics and Radiological Protection, and Healthcare for oncology patients in the areas of Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Emergencies.

ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental management systems) - BUREAU VERITAS​

It includes both the IVO Valencia Hospital Complex and the IVO radiotherapy units in Cuenca and Alcoy

ISO 15189 (Medical laboratories) - ENAC​

It certifies the technical competence of medical laboratories to ensure that clinical decisions are made on the basis of reliable results, thereby minimising patient safety risks and increasing diagnostic quality. The services included in the scope are the following:

Quality Oncology Practice Iniciative (QOPI) Certification

Quality and safety standards of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), which is a recognition in cancer patient care.

This recognises our activity with a wide range of high-quality cancer diagnostics and care tailored to individual patient needs, as well as our culture of learning and improving the professional and organisational quality of care.

The IVO has been accredited by the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) as a center of excellence in the comprehensive care of cancer patients and palliative care.

EBU Certification (European Board of Urology) ​

The Urology Service of the Valencian Institute of Oncology (IVO) has been accredited by the European Board of Urology (*EBU) as an international reference center for specialized training in breast and prostate tumors. This quality segment, also recognized by the European Association of Urology (EAU), distinguishes those centers that meet the highest standards in teaching, clinical care and surgical outcomes.

With this accreditation, the IVO becomes the only hospital in the Valencian Community recognized by EBU, and one of only two in Spain along with the Puigvert Foundation in Barcelona. The certification is valid for five years and evaluates the excellence of the training program provided to European resident physicians in the subspecialties of oncological urology.

2025-The newspaper las Provincias celebrated 25 years since the first edition of the Valencian Awards for the 21st Century and once again honored all the winners. The IVO was awarded in 2004.

2018—The Valencian Institute of Oncology (IVO) received the COPE Valencia Award in the Healthcare category during the 7th edition of the COPE Valencia Awards.

2018- The Valencian Institute of Oncology (IVO) was awarded the A TU SALUD Prize by the newspaper La Razón in the category of “Best Oncology Center”.
