finalitat fonamentalment diagn\u00f2stica (diagn\u00f2stic per imatge), encara que tamb\u00e9 terap\u00e8utica i en investigaci\u00f3 m\u00e8dica.<\/p><p>El car\u00e0cter no invasiu de les seues t\u00e8cniques, la manca d\u2019efectes secundaris i l&#8217;elevada efic\u00e0cia diagn\u00f2stica per a detectar canvis funcionals\/metab\u00f2lics, la converteixen en una <strong>ferramenta important<\/strong> i fonamental <strong>en el camp de l\u2019oncologia.<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column La\u00a0<strong>PET<\/strong> ofereix informaci\u00f3 metab\u00f2lica dels diversos teixits i \u00f2rgans, i \u00e9s capa\u00e7 de detectar preco\u00e7ment alteracions en determinades patologies, fonamentalment oncol\u00f2giques (encara que tamb\u00e9 neuropsiqui\u00e0triques, card\u00edaques o en patologia inflamat\u00f2ria, per exemple) abans que s\u2019evidencien canvis morfol\u00f2gics.<\/p><p>L\u2019IVO practica la PET des que es va introduir per primera vegada a Espanya, al voltant de l\u2019any 2000. En moltes patologies oncol\u00f2giques, els estudis PET-TC s\u00f3n una elecci\u00f3 de prefer\u00e8ncia gr\u00e0cies al seu funcionament, ja que l&#8217;increment del consum de glucosa en les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals facilita la localitzaci\u00f3 de lesions amb un elevat grau d&#8217;exactitud, la qual cosa permet definir l&#8217;extensi\u00f3 local del c\u00e0ncer, aix\u00ed com l&#8217;exist\u00e8ncia de malaltia a dist\u00e0ncia i, finalment, valorar preco\u00e7ment la resposta al tractament aplicat.<\/p>                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"gammacmera-spect-ct-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"gammacmera-spect-ct-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <p>Tomografia computada per emissi\u00f3 monofot\u00f2nica (SPECT) i tomografia computada (TC); un model \u00fanic a Espanya en la seua gamma, que suposa una innovaci\u00f3 en l\u2019estat de l\u2019art de la tecnologia de detectors per a gammac\u00e0meres, ja que ofereix el sistema d\u2019imatge de medicina nuclear amb les millors prestacions fins al moment.<\/p>                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"unitat-de-terpia-metablica-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"unitat-de-terpia-metablica-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <p>Un altre element diferencial del Servici de Medicina Nuclear \u00e9s que compta amb una Unitat de Ter\u00e0pia Metab\u00f2lica on s&#8217;administren radiof\u00e0rmacs amb intenci\u00f3 terap\u00e8utica per tractar diverses patologies oncol\u00f2giques. En aquest sentit, cal destacar la realitzaci\u00f3 de tractaments amb I131 en el cas del c\u00e0ncer diferenciat de tiroides, luteci 177-p\u00e8ptids en el de tumors neuroendocrins metast\u00e0sics, o luteci 177-PSMA per al <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ivo.es\/el-cancer\/tipos-de-cancer\/cancer-de-prostata\/\">c\u00e0ncer de pr\u00f2stata<\/a>.<\/p>                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"cirurgia-radioguiada-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"cirurgia-radioguiada-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <p>\u00c9s la participaci\u00f3 de la medicina nuclear en el camp oncologicoquir\u00fargic, per mitj\u00e0 de\u00a0<strong>la pr\u00e0ctica de cirurgia radioguiada<\/strong>\u00a0(detecci\u00f3 selectiva del gangli sentinella en diversos tumors, principalment en c\u00e0ncer de mama, encara que tamb\u00e9 en melanomes, tumors de cap i coll, ginecol\u00f2gics o urol\u00f2gics, o la radiolocalitzaci\u00f3 de lesions ocultes). L&#8217;IVO ha incorporat l&#8217;\u00faltima avantguarda tecnol\u00f2gica amb l&#8217;adquisici\u00f3 de dos equips d&#8217;\u00faltima generaci\u00f3 per al diagn\u00f2stic
