I hereby present the Activity Report of the Va lencian Institute of Oncology Foundation (IVO) for 2025.<\/p>

This year has been marked by significant ad vances that reinforce our commitment to excel lence in healthcare, research, and training, but also by moments of remembrance and trib ute. Among these, we were deeply saddened by the passing of Mr Manuel Llombart Bosch, the IVO’s first Director General and one of its founding members. His humanity, dedication, commitment, and strategic vision, aimed at creating an integrated and pioneering cancer centre, were decisive in laying the foundations of our institution.<\/p>

As this document shows, in 2025, the IVO treat ed more than 32,500 patients, of whom near ly 8,000 were newly diagnosed cases. These figures reflect our activity’s sustained growth and, above all, demonstrate the trust placed in this institution by the people of Valencia, year after year. That trust is what drives us to keep improving every day, offering the best possible care, both human and professional.<\/p>

We are closing out a year in which we have once again been recognised, for the sixth con secutive year, as one of the world’s best cancer hospitals by Newsweek magazine. Furthermore, we have obtained EBU certification as a bench mark training centre for bladder and prostate tumours, and high-level certification under the Spanish National Security Framework (ENS), which confirms our commitment to the high est standards of patient data protection.<\/p>

Alongside these milestones, in 2025: \u00a0<\/p>

Significant improvements have been made, such as the refurbishment and relocation of the Medical Oncology Department, the com prehensive refurbishment of the Pathology Laboratory with the incorporation of advanced technology, and the expansion of the Well-be ing Unit, thereby strengthening comprehensive patient care.<\/p>

\u00a0We have performed over 5,400 surgical pro cedures. Of these, 671 were carried out us ing robotic surgery with the Da Vinci Xi sys tem, representing 15% more than in 2024.<\/p>

\u00a0Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be a particularly exciting year. We will begin a new phase of expan sion for the hospi tal complex, a strategic project that will bring all healthcare facilities together in a single lo cation, optimise flows and resources, and en hance the quality and efficiency of care for our patients.<\/p>

Furthermore, 2026 will mark the 50th anni versary of the Valencian Institute of Oncology. In this half century, the IVO has evolved from a centre founded to \u2018help patients die with dignity’\u2014for those affected by a disease with few treatment options\u2014into a national and in ternational benchmark in comprehensive and specialised care for cancer patients.<\/p>

To mark this milestone, we will be unveiling our new brand identity and a slogan that will accompany us throughout the year: ’50 years fighting cancer with our heart and soul’. It serves as a tribute to the professionals who have driven this institution forward for half a century. This team, across every unit and de partment, helps this project to flourish and has embraced the founding values of dedica tion, commitment, and a vocation to serving cancer patients in Valencia and their families.<\/p>
