What is prostate cancer?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tProstate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in men between the ages of 50 and 70.\r\n\r\nNo discomfort is noticed when it first develops. However, urinary difficulties begin when there is a narrowing of the urinary tract and the bladder becomes irritated.\r\n\r\nIt can be cured if treated in the early stages, before becoming symptomatic. The IVO has an opportunistic screening program for early diagnosis of prostate cancer.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Early detection program<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Aimed at men between the ages of 50 and 75 or with a family history of prostate cancer from the age of 40 and with a life expectancy of more than 10 years.The test consists of a simple scan such as a digital rectal exam and a conventional blood test to detect PSA. If > 4ng\/ml is referred to IVO for urinalysis and culture. After ruling out urinary tract infection, a second PSA test is performed and if > 4ng\/ml, a multiparametric MRI is performed.With the result of these procedures, the Uro-radiology committee discusses the relevance of performing a transrectal or transperineal prostate biopsy with ECO\/MRI fusion software or mapping biopsy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
