Admissions, Information and Patient care desks

Hospital Admissions, Information and Patient Care Desk are at the main entrance of Building A (Dr. Antonio Llombart Rodriguez), open mornings and afternoons, 7 days a week.

1st visit outpatient appointments (to open medical record) and outpatient consultations (Building C) as well as Information and Patient Care Desks are at the main entrance of Building C, open mornings, from Monday to Friday.

Admissions, Patient Information and Patient Care are at the main entrance of Building D (New Building), open mornings, from Monday to Friday.

You may direct your queries, complaints or suggestions on the 3rd floor in Building C (Outpatient) or you can go to Patient Information and Patient Care Services.

Information of interest

    • On your first visit to the IVO, you will have to bring your DNI (personal identification card) and SIP (social security card) to Admissions, Building C. Once the hospital has opened a medical record for you, you will be given an “IVO identification card”.
    • You must present your “IVO identification card” at each visit. Your upcoming visits, time and date, will be noted on this card.
    • If you have a scheduled test in any of the following areas, please go directly to:
      • Radiology: Go to The Radiology Admissions in the basement of Building B, or Radiology, 2nd Floor Building C.
      • Blood Test: Please go directly to the Blood test room on the Ground Floor Building D.
    • If you have an outpatient Consultations :
      • Please go directly to Admissions in Building C or D (see IVO guide)
    • If you have an appointment with Radiation Treatment:
      • Please go directly to the waiting room in the basement of Building D.

Basic Rules and Regulations of the Valencia hospital complex

The professional team at the IVO wishes to provide you with the best possible medical assistance in every stage of your oncological process.

Basic rules and regulations for patients and their companions:

Medical assistance:

  • You can receive MEDICAL ASSISTANCE in Outpatient Consultations, Operating theatres and Diagnostic Units from Monday to Thursday 8/17 and 8/15 on Friday.
  • The rest of the time, the Emergency Services and Intensive Care Unit and staff from different specialties are available. The Emergency Service operates 24 hours a day.

Medical visits during your hospital stay. You will receive a daily visit from the medical staff  during your hospital stay. They will  provide you with a progress report of your case. You can talk to the nursing staff about any non-medical queries.

Diet: During your stay, the medical staff will determine your diet or may let you select from a menu, depending on each case.

You should not bring high-value items to the hospital.

Basic rules for visitors:

  • The Reanimation and Critical care Unit at the IVO handles patients who require continuous monitoring and special treatment.

It operates 24 hours a day and has high technology equipment, specialized doctors and nursing staff. Therefore, relatives and companions do not need to remain in the hospital while patients are in this unit.

Nevertheless, it is important to leave a phone number where the relative or companion may be reached.

Visiting hours for the ICU are: 12:30/13:00 and 19:30/20:00.

  • Visits are allowed throughout the day in the Hospital; however, afternoon visits are preferred so as not to disrupt normal hospital operations.

We advise that visit to patients be limited to two persons at a given time to respect other patients’ need for rest.  Common spaces have been provided such as the vestibule or sitting room which can accommodate larger groups. Companions and relatives will leave the room during medical visits.

Plants and pets are not allowed in the hospital.

Legal Information:

  • There are rights and obligations as users of the healthcare system granted by the “Patient Rights and Information Law”. This information will be provided to the patients and relatives at the beginning of the hospital stay.
  • The patient will receive appropriate and comprehensive information prior to any surgical intervention, invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures which may pose a significant threat to his/her health.

Express written consent must be obtained from the patient using the Informed Consent Form. The physician is responsible for obtaining an appropriate written consent, which can be withdrawn by the patient at any time.

  • The Advance Directive document is available at Patient Information and Patient Care Services. The patient can express his/her wishes regarding his/her medical care to be kept in mind in the event that the patient cannot can no longer freely express his/her wishes.
